The Board of Trustees of the Foundation is responsible for the organization of the congress and is made up of a team of professionals related to the fields of technology, business management, human resources, communication, and, of course, disability.
The Fundación Romper Barreras (Breaking Barriers Foundation) came to life in March 2017. However, the foundation’s awards for assistive technology have been ongoing for several years. In 2019, the technical office was set up and the team of professionals responsible for its Board of Trustees and the organization of the entity’s projects were defined.

“The first time I came into contact with people with disabilities was during the Barcelona Paralympic Games in 1992. There I became aware of the extra challenges and barriers that people with disabilities face day-to-day. Years later I met Borja and Joaquín Romero, who taught me to look at multiple disabilities with intelligence and honesty. Thanks to that perspective, today I am part of a project that can help many people to be more autonomous so that together we break many barriers.”
